High-Quality Textile Hose

Mertex is a high-quality textile hose, with an extruded inner lining of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). This gives the hose excellent water flow compared to rubber-lined textile hoses, while also maintaining excellent adhesion between the lining and the weave.

Made to Last

Did you know that we designed and manufactured our first textile firehoses early in the 1900s? One of them, made in 1921 with a woven circular loom is displayed at our offices, still in good condition after being used for more than 50 years. We are not joking when saying that our hoses last for decades.

Explore Mertex

From our first version of Mertex, we have continued to develop and improve this hose – making sure we provide the best firehose possible for our customers.

Mertex

Mertex contains no hot melt adhesives which are vulnerable to delamination. The hose has been developed after Norwegian high-quality standards and is designed according to BS 6391 – type 1. Mertex also carries the MED certificate and Wheel Mark for Marine Services. The light and good mechanical properties make Mertex the preferred solution for small spaces firefighting, such as in factories, maritime industries, and refineries where quick deployment and response time are crucial to reducing the dramatic consequences of a fire.

Mertex Arctic

Mertex Arctic is specially developed for extremely cold climates. It has the same qualities as Mertex, with the MED certification and the Wheel Mark. In addition to that Mertex Arctic is tested down to -62 degrees celsius without any weakening of the hose. Mertex Arctic is available on request, in sizes 1 1/2 and 2 inches.
